Synopsis & Map: Greek Island of Andi-kythira

Greek Island of Andi-kythira (Ionian)

Andi-kythira Synopsis & Map (Click map for guide)

andi kythira map greek island Located midway between Kapsali, at the southernmost tip of Kythira and Kastelli in westernmost Crete, the rocky little island of Andi-kythira has a population of about 70, 99% of whom reside in the harbor town of Potamos and Sohoria, the main village.

There's a coffee shop and restaurant in Potamos, and some few rooms for guests, though there isn't much besides basic food for sale at the grocery. With few trees, there is some birdlife and interesting flora to see; there are remainig walls from the 5th century BC at ancient Aigilia near Potamos, and a small beach at Xeropotamo, a five minute boat ride from the same town or a half hour walk.

This is an island for people seeking solitude. The ferries which connect Kythira with Kastelli (Kissamos) in western Crete, stop here 3 times a week (only if there are passengers coming or going from here).
