ERESSOS VILLAGE TRADITIONAL HOUSE : LESVOS N.E. AEGEAN ISLANDS
SUMMARY:The Eressos house is
a traditional house recently renovated, in the center of the town of Eressos,
4km away from the beach of Skala Eressos. It is appropriate for 2-6 persons.
In the entrance of the house there is a private yard. On the ground floor there
is a sitting area, a bathroom, and a bedroom with a double bed. Also, there
is a stair that takes you to the second level. On the second level there are
two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with two single beds.
IN MORE DETAIL: The ERESSOS HOUSE - This beautiful traditional Greek Village
House has been lovingly restored and decorated in simple, natural style to combine
all modern facilities with a charm and peaceful atmosphere. It has room for
a family of six adults and is located just 100m from the 'Platia' of Eressos,
4km inland from Skala Eressos. A leisurely walk from the village of Eressos
to Skala Eressos takes about 45 minutes. Mountains surround the village and
a walk through cobbled streets will reveal an every day life unaffected by tourism.
This traditional two storey Greek House has been lovingly restored to an excellent
standard and has been adapted to modern living without sacrificing the atmosphere
or traditional features. The floors are wooden throughout and original ceilings
have been retained where possible. The house is extremely quiet and is especially
attractive to those wishing to avoid the stress and strains of life at home.
The house is entered by traditional double wooden gates, which open onto the
private courtyard garden. The garden contains mature trees and shrubs and is
overflowing with colorful flowers.
GROUND FLOOR: The front door to the house opens onto a hallway with wooden stairs
leading to the first floor. Double doors lead to a ground floor bedroom with
huge wrought iron double bed and natural wooden floor. At the other side of
the hallway, a door leads to an inner coffee chamber furnished with traditional
chairs and wooden table. A large window opens onto the courtyard. An archway
leads from here into the large kitchen / diner which is furnished to the highest
standards with wooden kitchen units, terra-cotta tiled floor, extractor fan,
small oven and hob, sink, fridge and superb work surfaces. A huge wooden dining
table with six chairs and a traditional wooden and cloth settee complete the
dining area with a large window opening onto the private yard. The bathroom
is fully tiled with pedestal sink unit, bathroom, and full bath with shower
attachment as well as a vanity wicker shelving unit and medicine cupboard
FIRST FLOOR: Stairs lead from the ground floor hallway up to this level and
onto a small landing with access to the two separate upper bedrooms. One bedroom
has a huge double wrought iron bed and one complete wall of fitted wardrobes.
The second bedroom has two wrought iron single beds and a traditional built
in wooden wardrobe. Both have polished wooden floors and have retained as many
traditional features as possible. A wooden baby cot with mattress and bedding
is available on request
